John Cage performing "Water Walk" in January, 1960 on the popular TV show I've Got A Secret.
"At the time, Cage was teaching Experimental Composition at New York City's New School. Eight years beyond 4:33, he was (as our smoking MC informs us) the most controversial figure in the musical world at that time. His first performance on national television was originally scored to include five radios, but a union dispute on the CBS set prevented any of the radios from being plugged in to the wall. Cage gleefully smacks and tosses the radios instead of turning them on and off.
While treating Cage as something of a freak, the show also treats him fairly reverentially, cancelling the regular game show format to allow Cage the chance to perform his entire piece. "
'Heroes Return' is side A of Chappell disc C.456, side B of which 'Birdcage Walk' was a previous upload.
Both quick march compositions are by former director of the Band of the Welsh Guards, Leslie Statham (1905-1974), writing as Arnold Steck, the pseudonym he used for all of his commercial compositions.
He was particularly active in the 1950s and 1960s and is remembered mostly for his marches with titles like "Piccadilly", the aforementioned "Birdcage Walk", "Path of Glory" and best known of all, as it was the original signature tune for Match of the Day, "Drum Majorette", and other 'production' music' titles for Chappells library such as "Morning Canter" and "Important Occasion".
Issued in 1955, 'Heroes Return' is played by the New Era Symphonic Band under the direction of Michael John.

Instructions for beginners:
- Practice each section until you feel really comfortable in playing it. It will take many repetitions to be good at anything you do, included playing just three notes at the piano.
- if you struggle reading notes, read the notes first and without playing them on the piano. You cannot learn how to speak Japanese and how to read-write Japanese all at the same time. Reading music and playing are two different processes for our brain,
- look for your hand position. Fingers should "walk" on the keyboard. The weight of your arm is transferred from one finger to the next.

Arnold Steck (real name Leslie Statham ) was an English arranger and composer.
Statham was born in Solihull in 1905 and enjoyed a long career, initially as a soldier in the Welsh Guards regiment of the British Army, playing in the Welsh Guards Band, and was occasionally given to performing as a soloist outside of his military career.
He was particularly active in the 1950s and 1960s and is remembered mostly for his marches with titles like "Piccadilly", "Birdcage Walk", "Path of Glory" and best known of all as it was the original signature tune for Match of the Day, "Drum Majorette", as well as other production' music titles for the Chappell Recorded Music library such as "Morning Canter" and this selection "Important Occasion". He died in 1974.
The performance is by Roger Roger and his Champs-Élysées Orchestra, although the reference to the French avenue is dropped from the record sleeve.
The single issue on C.816 is shared with previously uploaded 'Paper Round' (Peter Yorke) and the LP release of 1966 covers LPC 814-819.
“Royal Review” completes the uploading of disc C.402 from the Chappell Recorded Music Library in 1950, with side A “Golden Spurs” previously posted.

As is the case with 'Golden Spurs', this track also appears on Guild Music disc GLCD 5147 “Bandstand In The Park – Volume 2”, one of the 'Golden Age Of Light Music series', devised and compiled by David Ades (1938-2015).
The performance is again by the Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy conducted by Captain Gijsbert Nieuwland.

Queens Parade was a 1955 entry in the Chappell library at C.455, played by te New Era Symphonic Band conducted by Michael John. It is coupled with another Arnold Steck composition “Cortege”.
There are the basic, (1, 2, 3, 4), guitar fingering exercises that almost everyone's tried, and then there are more structured guitar exercises (hardly anyone does).
In this video, I show the unique "Spider Walk" guitar exercise and I talk about the value in doing it for even just 30 days. This exercise is best practiced in two ways.
The first is a "fixed finger" approach. The second approach involves designing a pattern to follow within a playing position of the neck. Then, modifying that pattern as you play within a two string region.

Inference from SNP array data through GWAS has shown that approximately one-third to two-thirds of the pedigree heritability can be captured from common SNPs. For psychiatric disorders, estimates of SNP-heritability are typically less than 50% of the estimates of pedigree heritability. One hypothesis of the difference between these estimates is that low frequency and rare variants are not sufficiently tagged by common genotyped and imputed variants. If remaining genetic variance can be captured from whole-genome-sequence (WGS) data then this has implications of gene and gene variant discovery and for polygenic prediction. We will show results from analyses on WGS data on more than 20,000 samples on the ‘model’ traits height and BMI.

Obfuscated Databases: Definitions and Constructions
Vitaly Shmatikov, University of Texas at Austin
I will present some new definitions and constructions for privacy in
large databases. In contrast to conventional privacy mechanisms that aim
to prevent any access to individual records, our techniques are designed
to prevent indiscriminate harvesting of information while enabling some
forms of legitimate access.
We start with a simple construction for an obfuscated database that is
provably indistinguishable from a black-box lookup oracle (in the random
oracle model). Some attributes of the database are designated as "key,"
the rest as "data." The database behaves as a lookup oracle if, for any
record, it is infeasible to extract the data fields without specifying
the key fields, yet, given the values of the key fields, it is easy to
retrieve the corresponding data fields.
We then generalize our constructions to a larger class of queries, and
achieve a privacy property we call "group privacy." It ensures that
users can retrieve individual records or small subsets of records from
the database by identifying them precisely. The database is obfuscated
in such a way that queries returning a large subset of records are
computationally infeasible.
This is joint work with Arvind Narayanan.

Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining UT,
he worked as a computer scientist at SRI International. Vitaly\'s
research focuses on tools and formal methods for automated analysis and
verification of secure systems, as well as various aspects of anonymity
and privacy. Vitaly received his PhD in 2000 from Stanford University,
with thesis on \"Finite-State Analysis of Security Protocols.\"
