The Nightmare Where I'm in School Again

The alternate working title for this was: "Homework problem number three? Wasn't I doing this last night?"

Let me tell you something. Theoretical quantum mechanics? No problem, I think I've got this. Thermodynamics? I don't even know what the heck is going on. I think it all comes down to how much your professor chooses to inform you of. I mean, my thermo professor is a nice guy, I think, but yesterday he spent an hour discussing learning methods. While I appreciate that the educational system may or may not cater to my personal needs, I'd really like to go back to that part about the complex partial derivatives if we have time to kill in the schedule.

For those of you out of school, you ever have that dream where you have to go back to school? I do. You find out that you missed some little inconsequential class or that you signed up for something you forgot about, and failing that class caused you to fail everything. Maybe you forgot to return a book and they put your graduation on hold, and they only just now caught it and have revoked your diploma, and now that standards have changed you have to go back and fill in the newly missing gaps if you want it back. Then you're naked to add to the frustration, but the nudity pales in comparison to the outrage of having to go back to school.

I've had all kinds of flavors of that nightmare. And I know it isn't just me. My bosses at work, my friends, heck, even my own dad have had and still have those dreams. And the feeling is always the same. Nothing incurs a sense of dread quite like the educational system can. It's like post traumatic stress disorder, but a lot less severe. You just never forget the horrors.

That aside, to touch base on the ponies, I've handed over some editing work to SpottableBus, but like me before her, she has no idea what she's doing. She's getting it figured out, and she seems pretty damn eager to do a great job. I haven't been able to talk to her all week, though, so I'll find out what she's got going this weekend or something.

On the bright side, the second season is almost here, so that ought to be fun, and the Friendship is Witchcraft guys put up a new video too, and it's got some real gems in it, so if you haven't seen them yet check them out. I wish they'd up the speed of the rapports between ponies, but eh, maybe there's a calculated creative reason they choose the Dora the Explora style deliveries. Their script is still great, though.

I had a cold, and so did Pinkie, by extension, so it was a slightly lower energy affair than I had originally planned, but it was still fun. It was actually when my cold had hit me the hardest. Pinkie rubbed her nose on all the doorknobs in Ponyville because most ponies open doors with their mouths, in case you were wondering.
