Far Cry 6 is a first-person shooter game developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft. It is the sixth main installment of the Far Cry series for Amazon Luna, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. The game is set to be released on October 7, 2021.

The game begins during the final confrontation between Vaas and Jason in Far Cry 3. After this he is awoken by Citra, she wants him to reassemble the three pieces of the Silver Dragon blade and bring it to her in order to gain her approval. She states that he must do what she tells him to do if he wants to escape his mind.

In comparison to the gameplay of Far Cry 6 and indeed the Far Cry series, Insanity takes a noticeable rogue-like approach. The currency that can be acquired by killing enemies, opening chests, and completing quests is called Cash. In the game, if and when you die for whatever reason, you lose all inventory items and have to start over from the beginning. All locations discovered, all challenges completed, all Cash collected, and all weapons gathered are reset and have to be found and/or completed all over again.

The game is set on Yara, a fictional Caribbean island ruled as a dictatorship by "El Presidente" Antón Castillo (portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito), who is raising his son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez) to follow in his rule. The player takes the role of a local Yaran named Dani Rojas, a former soldier in the Yaran armed forces turned guerrilla soldier fighting for freedom who attempts to restore their nation to its former glory. The player can select Dani's gender at the start of the game.

Far Cry 6 is an action-adventure first-person shooter game. Gameplay follows from previous Far Cry games, with players using makeshift weapons, vehicles, and hiring Amigos, the new "Fangs for Hire" system, to topple the tyrannical regime.

Far Cry 6 takes place on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara, which is inspired by Cuba and described as "the largest Far Cry playground to date" and "a tropical paradise frozen in time". It is ruled by "El Presidente" Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito), a fascist dictator with full control over the island. Castillo is guiding his son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez), who is unsure of his own future, to follow in his footsteps. Esposito described his character as a leader "trying to empower the people to understand that they need strong leadership now", but is stuck in the middle of a revolution. Esposito further added "His father was a dictator before him and he wants to empower the people to take their country back. His goal is to use the resources that they have within the country to survive without allowing outsiders to come in and co-opt their scientists, their intellectual property, all of these things". Esposito continued that Antón is "trying to empower his son to take up his mantle and really embrace ideas that would allow him to see that soon he will probably be the next leader in this country".

Jason goes shopping at Toys"R"Us and buys eleven Nerf Pistol handguns plus extra darts to expand his arsenal.

Single Released Posthumously

The most popular recording of the song was done by Johnny Ace. It was released by Duke Records as catalog number 136 in 1955 soon after Ace's death by an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. Ace's version peaked on the Billboard chart at #17 and spent ten weeks at #1 on the R&B chart.

The recording was produced by Johnny Otis, who also played the vibraphone on the track and featured the Johnny Otis band.

Ace's "Pledging My Love" was used multiple times in the 1983 film Christine directed by John Carpenter and written by Stephen King about a 17-year old boy in love with a possessed 1958 Plymouth Fury. It is briefly heard in Back to the Future (1985) when Lorraine Baines is in the car with her future son Marty McFly. The song is also played during the movie Bad Lieutenant and another Harvey Keitel movie, Mean Streets.

Paul Simon wrote a song called "The Late Great Johnny Ace" and released it on his Hearts and Bones album. In the early 2000s, Simon sang "Pledging my Love" live in concert, telling the audience that this record was the first one he ever bought.

Two high-school students, Marinette and Adrien, are chosen to become Paris’ superheroes: Ladybug and Cat Noir. They each have a Miraculous, a jewel linked to their the magical creatures (Kwamis) that give them powers.

Astruc describes Ladybug as a positive character who brings happiness, like a candy, and like Amélie Poulain crossed with Spider-Man.

Adrien Agreste a.k.a. Cat Noir is Marinette's classmate and a popular fashion model for his father's clothing company. He transforms into the superhero "Cat Noir" with the help of his Kwami, Plagg, to assist Ladybug in saving Paris.
Adrien is kind and well-liked, and hangs out often with his best friend Nino. Though his family is wealthy, he laments his poor relationship with his stern father, Gabriel; his mother, meanwhile, has disappeared. He is in love with Ladybug, despite not knowing her true identity, and tries to impress her, although he makes bad jokes and cat-themed puns as Cat Noir, which frequently annoy her. His special ability, Cataclysm, allows him to destroy an object that he touches with a swipe of his paw.

Hawk Moth is a mysterious villain who has the power to create new super-villains with his akuma, which are butterflies that he corrupts with his dark power. He preys on people who are at a point of weakness and appeals to their negative emotions, such as fear, sadness, anger or jealousy. In exchange for granting them powers to exact revenge on those who have wronged them, he asks his villains to steal Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses for him, so that he may use both to gain immense power. He possesses the Moth Miraculous. Long believed to be lost, its original purpose is to create superheroes, but because Hawk Moth has it, he is able to use the power of both Miraculous and its Kwami for his plans.

Panelist Bios:

Zach Wamp served in the House of Representatives for more than 15 years, representing Tennessee’s 3rd District. He was a senior member on the House Appropriations Committee and co-chair of the House Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucus. He also founded the Congressional Fitness Caucus. He is now the president and owner of Zach Wamp Consulting, a bipartisan consulting and development firm for a wide range of businesses across the country. Prior to serving in elected office, he worked as a small businessman and a commercial real estate broker.

Tim Roemer served six terms in the U.S. House of Representatives for Indiana’s third congressional district, and was an instrumental member of the of 9/11 Commission after the attacks on September 11, 2001. In Congress, he was known as a consensus-builder and worked diligently to represent the people of Indiana, and to improve access, standards and achievement in the American education system through his leadership on initiatives such as Head Start, AmeriCorps, and affordable higher education proposals. As Ambassador to India, Tim led one of America’s largest diplomatic missions, and helped move India from America’s 25th-largest trading partner to 12th and expanded the country’s commercial sales in defense and space industries.

Moderator Bio:

Charles Wheelan is Senior Lecturer and Policy Fellow at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center. He is also affiliated with the Department of Economics and the Department of Education. In addition to his work at Dartmouth, he has spent time as a speechwriter, a correspondent for The Economist, and a Congressional candidate and in other policy-related positions that inform my academic work. His goal is to make important academic ideas understandable to the broadest possible audience and to use these powerful ideas to address real social challenges.
