Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika was born in Athens on 26 February 1906. From early youth he showed a serious inclination towards drawing and, while still at school, he took painting lessons from Constantinos Parthenis.
In 1922 he went to Paris, taking lessons in painting and drawing from R. Bissière and D. Galanis at the Académie Ranson, while studying French literature and Aesthetics at the Sorbonne.
He first exhibited his work in Paris in 1923, at the Salon des Tuileries and the Salon des Surindépendants, and afterwards contributed to many group exhibitions.
His first one-man exhibition took place at the Galerie Percier in Paris in 1927. His first exhibition in Athens, held at the Strategopoulos Gallery in 1928, was shared with sculptor Michael Tombros.
In 1934, already a respected artist, he decided to leave Paris in order to settle in Athens. Between 1935 and 1937 he edited the periodical "To Trito Mati" ("The Third Eye") together with architect Pikionis, the poet Papatzonis and the director Karantinos.
In 1937 he restored the ancestral home of the Ghikas family in Hydra, where he painted the first works in which he expressed his artistic style decisively, combining the elements of Cubism with the nature, light and architecture of Greece.
He was appointed Professor of Drawing at the National Technical University of Athens School of Architecture in 1941, and continued to teach there until 1958.
In 1972 he was elected a regular member of the Academy of Athens and in 1986 an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He was also granted honorary doctorates by the School of Architecture at the University of Thessaloniki in 1982 and by the University of Athens School of Philosophy in 1991.
More than fifty exhibitions of Hadjikyriakos-Ghika’s works were held over the years in Athens, Paris, London, Geneva, Berlin and New York.
Examples of his work are to be found in many private collections in Greece, Western Europe and the USA, as well as in the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris, the Tate Gallery in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the National Gallery in Athens, and many other museums.
Apart from painting, drawing and sculpture, Hadjikyriakos-Ghika was also involved in designing stage sets and costumes for theatrical works such as Aristophanes’ "Clouds" (National Theatre of Greece, 1951; Comédie Française, 1952) and Gide’s ballet "Persephone", with music by Stravinsky (Covent Garden, 1961). He also illustrated a number of books, including N. Kazantzakis’ "Odyssey", Longos’ "Daphne and Chloe" and C.P. Cavafy’s "Poems". His writings include several books, studies and articles on architecture and aesthetics, as well as treatises on Greek art.

Barbara Hepworth distinguished herself as a world-recognized sculptor in a period where female artists were rare. She evolved her ideas and her work as an influential part of an ongoing conversation with many other important artists of her time, working crucially in areas of greater abstraction while creating three dimensional objects. Her development of sculptural vocabularies and ideas was complex and multi-faceted. This included the use of a wide range of physical materials for sculpting and an unprecedented sensitivity to the particular qualities of those materials in helping decide the ultimate results of her sculptures, the investigation of "absence" in sculpture as much as "presence," and deep considerations of the relationship of her sculptural forms to the larger spaces surrounding it. Though her forms in their larger outlines tended to possess the clean lines of modernist aesthetics, she complicated these with different textures, an effect described by one reviewer as "sensuous and tactile" that "quickened the pulse".
She helped shift three dimensional art works into greater abstraction as she herself moved from creating work mingling figurative forms with abstraction in her earlier sculptures to almost entirely abstract, non-representational later works.
Hepworth was a key figure among modern sculptors in responding to the physical characteristics of whichever material was chosen to work with in order to resolve appropriate forms for the finished works, rather than simply mold material to fit some pre-determined shape.
Though she developed a long series of highly abstract pieces, the greater trajectory of her work was imbued with underlying aspects of nature, which she brought out more explicitly in the sculptures of her later career. "All my sculpture comes out of landscape," she wrote in 1943. "I'm sick of sculptures in galleries & photos with flat backgrounds... no sculpture really lives until it goes back to the landscape, the trees, air & clouds."

This was an interesting episode to produce. A pain in the fetlock, but nevertheless, interesting. A thumbs up like would be good, I did stand about in the rain for a few hours... I do really put the effort in! =)

So, Romulus and Mars return with the foals. Cleomenes has telepathic abilities, and can read most horses' minds. generally those whom have something to hide (So Rom and Mars certainly tick that box nicely), or those younger/weaker minded than him. He has seen in Romulus and Mars' heads that they were distracted, and left the foals to wander off.
He threatens that if they were to "slip from their duties" again, he'd put measures in place to ensure that they are punished or found out. So, foal watching wasn't as easy as they first thought it would be.
Meanwhile, Gaia questions Venus regarding her pendant... we also see here a softer more sympathetic side to Neptune...wow!
Also...Loki's a little mysterious isn't he?

...and finally, I can't give away anything verbally on the final part with Persephone, but you can probably work that out for yourself.
