Reliving The War is a weekly show that takes an in-depth look at the WWF vs WCW “Monday Night War”. With WWF Raw airing on the USA Network and WCW Nitro airing live on TNT every Monday night, fans would choose which show to watch. This resulted in a TV ratings battle between the two companies. This time period in pro wrestling saw record viewers tuning in every week to see the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, the nWo, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Goldberg and Sting.

It's the night after WCW Halloween Havoc 1997 and Hollywood Hogan has got his nWo championship belt back. It's announced that a contract signing is going to take place on Tuesday night for Hulk Hogan vs Sting at Starrcade 97, all Sting has to do is show up in Las Vegas while Assault on Devil's Island airs on TNT. Elsewhere on the show Hogan wrestles Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T gets a US title shot against Curt Hennig.

On the WWF Channel Bret Hart has his final Raw match of this run when he defends his WWF Championship against Ken Shamrock. D-Generation X cause more trouble, Jim Cornette tells us all how he feels about the Halloween Havoc cage match, and Mankind vs Kane gets made official for Survivor Series 1997.

Born Keith Grayson, the gully loudmouth grew up with his grandparents in Harlem's East River Houses, where at an early age he befriended Alberto Martinez, who would later become the legendary drug dealer Alpo. Such company meant that Kayslay knew the meaning of gangsta at a young age, but he initially drifted toward good old-fashioned hip-hop culture, particularly DJing and grafitti writing. As Dezzy Dez, his tag name at the time, Kayslay made quite a name for himself throughout New York during the late '70s and early '80s. Music, for Kayslay, has always been a hustle. For years he worked at random jobs, trying to make enough money to fund his own studio in Harlem so that he could fulfill his dreams of being a big-time DJ. He slowly realized his dreams, and by the early 2000s, he was indeed one of New York's big-time DJs, churning out mixtapes that featured many of the city's top rappers. His big break came during the advent of high-stakes beefing sparked by the unprecedented furor surrounding Jay-Z's ongoing bout with Nas. It was Kayslay who first spun "Ether," and from that point on, he became the DJ who rappers would go to with their latest battle raps, another huge debut of his being the Ja Rule-bashing Eminem, 50 Cent, and Busta Rhymes remake of "Hail Mary" that the three would later encore at Summer Jam 2003. His Streetsweeper mixtapes, which were trademarked by his signature loudmouth voiceovers, were consequently hot commodities during this era, and Columbia Records took the initiative to sign him and finance a major-label version of the Streetsweeper series. When the awful news broke on Christmas Eve 2016 that legendary rocker Rick Parfitt had passed, fans around the world were devastated that one of rock’s most iconic performers had been silenced. However, unknown to almost anyone, Rick had in fact virtually completed his first solo album whilst undergoing a period of recuperation after his heart attack in July. That album, poignantly titled ‘Over And Out’ will now be released on 23 March 2018 through earMUSIC.

Featuring 10 brand new songs, including the title track that broke hearts anew when it was played at Rick’s funeral, this is an album of depth and passion. Created by Rick Parfitt and Producer Jo Webb, the record is a true labour of love and showcases the softer side of Rick as a writer, artist and performer away from the Quo maelstrom as well as the purest rock and roll sound of earlier Status Quo records.

Despite the fact Rick Parfitt had finished recording his guitar and vocal parts, a recording session was planned to happen in February 2017. Certain tracks were not totally finished when Rick died. The call to help ensure that his work could be completed, so that the world could hear it was answered by musicians of the calibre of Queen’s Brian May and Muse’s Chris Wolstenholme, both of whom were close to Rick. Rick’s son, Rick Parfitt Jnr, was also involved in the creative process, as were John “Rhino” Edwards and Alan Lancaster, amongst many others. All of those involved in completing the songs that Rick had written for ‘Over And Out’ have done him proud in bringing his vision to fruition.

Rick´s music always featured two elements - the raw rock and roll sound and a great passion for melodies. “Over And Out” offers the best of both worlds: It has been recorded and written with a band´s spirit between Rick and Jo. They shared various mixes, reflecting the sound of the sessions and the spirit that was present in the “room”.

The album has also been mixed by top producer Ash Howes, offering a different view on the songs but also leaving a dilemma open for interpretation, which one would Rick prefer?
The polished, big sounding mixes or the original band mixes, raw and full of musical honesty?
Those who were close enough to him over the years would probably say… “both”.
This is why the album will be available in its “finished” form, but also as a raw and pure version, for the fans of the rockier side of Rick´s music in special collector´s editions.

This album is the record that Rick Parfitt had been itching to write. His forced departure from Quo’s live performance circuit, whilst very hard for him to take, did at least free up the time that was needed to create ‘Over And Out’.

‘Over And Out’ is but the latest element of the incredible legacy and body of work that Rick Parfitt leaves. A testament to his talent, his winning way with words, an incredible joie de vivre and a spirit that never flagged. He’ll be missed but ‘Over And Out’ is a great way to remember him. Gone but not forgotten.

This is my first attempt at making a music video using heavy metal music and kung fu action. A stranger is in town and trying to make a name for himself by beating up all the local masters. Its up to grandmaster Ip Man to show this ruffian a thing or two.

If you have not seen the film, its very recommended and a recent classic. Most of the footage comes from the film's first act. Please support distributers of these films by purchasing the DVD - you can probably find this one very cheaply even in the west!
