Gupt: The Hidden Truth is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language suspense thriller film directed by Rajiv Rai and featuring Bobby Deol in the lead role, along with Kajol and Manisha Koirala. Distributed under the banner Trimurti Films,[1] it also stars Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Raj Babbar, Dalip Tahil, Prem Chopra, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Sharat Saxena, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Mukesh Rishi and Priya Tendulkar in supporting roles. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Viju Shah.

Released on 4 July 1997, Gupt was praised for its storyline, suspense, performances, soundtrack and direction.[citation needed] A major box-office success, Gupt grossed ₹332.4 million worldwide, becoming the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 1997. It earned several accolades at different award ceremonies including three Filmfare Awards. The film seems borrowed plots from the Hollywood movie The Shawshank Redemption wherein the protagonist escapes from the prison after getting help in form of information and tools from a friendly inmate.Over the years,[2][when?]it has become a cult classic, and is listed among the top suspense thriller Hindi films

Since 1999, Taglit-Birthright Israel has enabled thousands of young Jewish people around the world to travel to Israel. The nonprofit programme takes participants on an all-expenses-paid journey through the country, but Palestinian rights activists say the trip whitewashes the Israel-Palestine conflict. Critics have also questioned the ethics of the programme, noting the inability of Palestinians in the diaspora to return to their ancestral homeland.

Last summer, a small group of Birthright Israel participants walked off the trip protesting what they called the erasure of "the Palestinian experience." Supporters of the programme, such as writer Ariel Sobel, called it a “stunt”, saying demonstrators used a free trip to make a political statement at the expense of people who might not otherwise be able to afford it. But human rights groups like Jewish Voice for Peace say young Jews should reject the programme entirely. They are using the hashtag #ReturnTheBirthright to highlight the dispossession of Palestinians.

While Prince's 1982 original spoke of the end of days way off in the future (in 1999), Bruce's parody speaks of the end of days happening...RIGHT NOW! At least it seems like it, with Republicans calling for government takeovers of private banks. Who'd have predicted that would ever happen. Marx, anyone? Feels like...like...1929.

"Loose Bruce" Kerr is an irregular feature on the Dr. Demento and Jim Bohannon syndicated national radio shows. Bruce has opened for "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Kerr performs & records his videos and audio tracks in his garage, singing and playing the instruments one at a time. Bruce took 20 years off from his legal career to write and perform music as "Loose Bruce" Kerr. After resuming his career in law, Kerr is currently Assistant General Counsel of Sun Microsystems in Northern California's Silicon Valley.
