中村 中、3年ぶりのオリジナルアルバム『るつぼ』。
近年は中島みゆき、John Cameron Mitchellとの共演、大竹しのぶ、藤あや子への楽曲提供など、ジャンルやボーダーを越えて活動を続けている中村 中。
今作には、格差社会の中でもがく人、現実世界の息苦しさからゲームの世界に居場所を求める人、インターネットに縛られている人など、現代の「おかしなこと」をテーマに書き下ろした全10曲を収録。
かどしゅんたろう、えらめぐみなどの新進気鋭のロックミュージシャンや、菊地成孔作品のトラックメーカー丸山 桂、森 佑允等を起用しサウンド面でも新機軸を打ち出した野心作。
