One of Trump's most vocal defenders, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, says the effort by Democrats to impeach President Trump is really about "canceling the president," and he warned "cancel culture will come for us all." (Jan. 13)

Democrats and a few Republicans say Trump must be removed immediately after he egged on a violent mob of supporters a week ago who then stormed the Capitol. The insurrection happened as some of Trump's GOP allies were challenging his election defeat, echoing the president's false claims that there was widespread fraud in his loss to Democrat Joe Biden.

But many Republicans argue impeachment is divisive and will not unite the country in this trying time.

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, one of Trump's most vocal defenders, said Wednesday Democrats "have an obsession" with impeaching President Trump.

"It's always been about getting the president, no matter what," Jordan said on the House floor.

He said Democrats are really out to "cancel the president and anyone who disagrees with them." And he warned that "cancel culture will come for us all."

Democrats say a vote on the article will go ahead in the House on Wednesday unless Vice-President Mike Pence invokes constitutional powers to remove Mr Trump from office.

Democrats Move To EXPEL Republicans From Congress As GOP Begs For Unity, AOC And Bush Say NO. Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and Jim Jordan's call s for unity and to put aside the anger fall on deaf ears.

The democrats, leftists, and their media allies don't care for unity and are on the offensive demanding these members be expelled.

Citing the 14th amendment they accuse Republicans of inciting insurrection by following a constitutional process objecting to electoral votes.

Trump is on the way out and these calls will only ignite and enrage both sides. Biden seems to have abandoned his previous calls for unity by denigrating the GOP members.

Curtin University Professor Joe Siracusa says there is “not a moderate-left left in Washington” and labelled the Democrat’s push to impeach President Donald Trump as an attempt to “destroy him and all the people around him”.

Democrats are moving forward with their plans to impeach President Trump, charging him with "incitement of insurrection" after his comments allegedly caused supporters to storm Capitol Hill.

Professor Siracusa told Sky News President Donald Trump could not be blamed for the actions of protesters at Capital Hill, considering what began as protest morphed into a mob scene “and after that it was everybody for himself”.

He said it appeared the Democrats, through their push to impeach Trump, were simply “determined to hurt” the president as much as possible during his last seven days in office, and wanted to deter him from doing anything with his “pardon powers”.

“I think they’re trying to make the president radioactive; they’re trying to destroy him and all the people around him,” he said.

“They’re going in the wrong direction here because there’s not a moderate-left left in Washington."

President Donald Trump threw himself another big rally Thursday night, this time in Manchester, New Hampshire, a state he nearly clinched in 2016.

We invited Lucas Meyer, the president of the Young Democrats of New Hampshire, to attend the rally with VICE News and talk to Trump’s fanatical supporters about why they love him so much. He agreed to attend because it’s “instructive to experience.”

Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., argued for the impeachment of President Donald Trump in a hearing on Jan. 13. Democrats are pursuing a quick second impeachment a week after Trump gave a speech they say incited insurrection. On Jan. 6, while Congress was in the process of counting electoral votes and certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s win, a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol, clashed with police, and forced lawmakers to pause their sessions and evacuate to safety.

Hoyer said impeaching the president would help uphold the Constitution and maintain the Republic. He urged Republicans and Democrats to take a stand and impeach the president in order to hold him accountable for his actions.

“This vote isn’t about timing, it is about principle and fidelity to our Constitution,” he said.
Hoyer was the last Democrat to speak before the resolution to impeach Trump went to a vote.
